well, the alumni sale is over, and it was miserable and cold! very un-spring like! however, the left over items including pouches, and a bunch of plushie goodness are now in the shop, available to everyone!

i love kitschy old west stuff. this weekend i wound up drawing this, and today finished the colors on it. i am pretty happy with it. i am making a couple of pouches with the image for the alumni sale this weekend... i have been busy sewing away for that show. i feel a little like i am walking in sand, though. i keep trying to make some headway, but it is taking so much effort for me to stay focused... for the next few days i will be sewing straight lines and making pouches...

i don't know if anyone noticed, but the site sort of disappeared over the weekend...well, the site is back up. but it is a bit empty. i have been busy sewing for the alumni sale, which is in providence, rhode island on may 3rd. here is a sneak peek of one of my new items i will have there, or more accurately, a revamped pattern:

i hope to see some people there! it should be great, afterall spring has sprung early here in new england, each day being more gorgeous than the last! it is funny, each time i peer out the window i keep expecting to see bare trees, instead they are bursting to life with leaves and birdies. i guess that is what inspired me to revamp this pattern...

i am still here... i just have my head down, buried in drawing, writing, sewing, and prepping for the first craft show of the spring for me, the RISD Alumni sale. so there might be a lack of posting over the next couple of weeks, but as i get closer to the show i will post pics of what i have made...

okay! more items loaded into the web shop! i also added more sasquatches & yetis too!

saturday i drove out to new haven to attend the opening for plush! i could only stay an hour, so i missed seeing some fellow artists, but the show looked awesome, and it was great to see it in person. i posted some pics i took over at flickr, if you want to see more. also, if you are interested in the black kitty i made, she didn't sell opening night, and you can contact jemma at the gallery for possible purchase.

i have been keeping a huge secret for what feels like forever!! now i can officially announce, i am super lucky, and super honored to be working with Sterling Publishing, and the most awesome editor ever to bring to the masses a pattern book i will be writing! how crazy is that?? *happy dance!* i will continue to run my online shop, and take part in shows too, i will also be working on an in depth book on how to sew plush dolls at the same time! yay!!

okay...now that is out of my system... 2 things!

1. this saturday is the opening for Plush! at "hello my name is gallery" in Connecticut. normally i wouldn't attend openings that i have my plush in due to the shows being far away, but this one is close enough that i will be at the opening. so if you are nearby, i hope you can come too! i have put the kitty girl dolls in this show.

2. the webshop update is delayed to next monday, but as you can see from the first picture, there will be brand new teacups, sasquatches, and yetis! so check in Monday!

alright..i think that is all for now. back to sewing... have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!!

yesterday i took my little guy to the vet after starting to worry about his excessive drinking and then puking. they did blood work on him, and my vet called me this morning to let me know everything seemed fine. the only number that worried her was the one related to his kidneys. i guess because he is an older gentleman, his kidneys are no longer working as well as they are suppose to. i just got back from picking up some samples of special foods for his kidneys. he has always been a dry food lover, but i need to try & get him to eat the wet stuff instead... right now he is curled up under the blanket napping the afternoon away, and i keep bugging him...so he is going to be fine.

this whole thing sort of took the wind out of my sails for the last day or so, though. i am going to be working really hard over the weekend to get more stuff made for the shop, which means green tea cups, regular tea cups, and finally the return of the sasquatches & yetis. so be sure to check in monday!

yesterday afternoon i finally got around making this fuzzy gorilla. it has been something rattling around in my brain for sometime now. i used one of those microplush blankets to make him out of. it was a messy affair, with much lint brushing involved, but i am happy with the results!

the weekend will mean i will get more stuff made, including those elephant kits i can't seem to keep in stock! so on monday check back to see them restocked again. have a great weekend all!

alrighty, so i tried another joann fabric store, and found more of the cotton fabrics, which means, more elephant kits! and i am ready if they run out again to make a few extras afterwards too...~~but they are currently now available in shop.~~ WHOA! okay, so if you missed them today, please check back monday! i loaded up on material, so i should be able to make more over the weekend.

i also made more herbal teas, for those who missed getting one and wanted one. enjoy! happy thursday!!

who posts on a saturday?? i guess i do. well, i posted this mohair bunny, Yvonne, on bid4bears.com this morning. she was sitting around with her sister bunny not finished, so i decided to fix them both up and now they are up for sale.

and here is her sister, Bridget available on etsy.

monday is my target day for the webshop to be loaded with the elephant kits & the coffee & tea cups i posted here, and some new ones i haven't posted yet... alright, back to making stuff!

here are the final versions of my hot beverage plush dolls. coming to a webshop of mine soon...

i was hoping for an update by this friday, but it might wind up being monday instead, so i can make some more stuff... i just got my re-order of stamps, so i will be adding more mr. bunny stamp sets to the shop too.

the mail has been good to me lately, i also got my new postcards for sample packs!

one more cup of joe for me, and i am off to get lots more done!

well, normally i wouldn't have done this, but since so many of you all asked, i am going to have a limited edition elephant kit available in the webshop by friday, in either pink or blue. it is limited because the fabric for lining the ears was in limited supply. here are some more images of them:

it seems my 'winter blahs' are over, and i have been kick started back into working like a crazy woman. maybe it was the daylight savings thing, who knows, but i have about a million ideas, and not enough time in a day to do them all!

well, i was sick for like 2 weeks. which caused a bit of log jam in my life so i have also been busy. i guess that is the norm for me, though. last friday i was on my way back from the fabric store, pulling into my driveway, when my neighbor backed into me.

i then spent friday dealing with insurance stuffs, and then this morning i dropped my poor car off at that progressive concierge service thingie. they gave me keys to a rental:

they just called me to let me know i will see my car probably by the end of this week. that means i need a special musical mix for the rental car, which i have been making for the last hour.

i should be photographing merchandise for my webshop, since i have some new stuff made. i also need to make a trip to the post office, which will be much easier now that i have a car to drive... a crafty post soon!

although mr. bunny dreams of being a super hero, i am dreaming of being well again. i have been sick for several days now, and i am very tired of sitting on my couch sneezing, coughing, and sniffling. this is one heck of a head cold!! i did manage to ink this drawing, and make it into a postcard design. but that is pretty much all i have done since last thursday...which is pretty sad indeed! oh well...more plushy goodness will have to happen on another day.

bright idea? or proof i am a goof?

after changing the light bulbs in the dining room for the millionth time, (yay old new england houses...) i was thinking how easy it would be to make a plush version. so i did. i plan on making some that are different colors, and i want to add arms & legs to them, like i did for the ice cream dolls.

sometimes experiments work!

one of my favorite patterns to make is the sleepy bunny & blanket. i decided to expand the pattern to make other sleepy baby animals too. a monkey, kitty, elephant, puppy, & bear...

these will be part of a shop update i am working on currently. i feel like i have been sewing & experimenting a lot lately, but often my experiments are met with failure, or else i feel like i can do better. i often feel like that when i make something, its okay, but i know i can do better! so i keep on sewing...

i heard this strange whirring sound coming from my porch, so i grabbed my camera and got this footage...

i think it was using a ray to disrupt my little camera, but i did some better pictures when it got closer...

okay, this wasn't a real UFO, but i was finally able to make a project that worked! it is a UFO playset. i made it with a combo of vinyl. felt & fleece.

the top is removable, and unzips revealing some little alien friends.

i am pretty happy with how it came out!
